Polish Summer Camp - 24 July to 5 August 2025

From 24 July to 5 August, the seaside town of Łeba hosted the annual National Summer Camp of the Polish IFK Kyokushin Karate Organisation. This year’s edition proved to be one of the most successful in the camp’s history, bringing together participants from IFK "Saiha" Karate Kyokushinkai Przemyśl, Hammer Kyokushinkai Dojo, IFK Wrocław, Pomorska Akademia Sportu Karate Kyokushinkai, Gdańska Akademia Sztuk Walki, and Raimei Dojo.

Training was both demanding and rewarding, with daily sessions dedicated to kihon, kata, renraku, and kumite. A special highlight was the contribution of Sensei Jarosław Preis from Gdynia, who joined the camp to conduct kumite training, giving many participants their first opportunity to learn directly under his guidance. Alongside the intense training, there was also time for relaxation and bonding through trips to the sea, an excursion to the famous moving dunes, evening walks, and late-night games that strengthened the spirit of community within the group.

The camp was led by an experienced instructor team consisting of Shihan Jan Wac (5th Dan), Sensei Jarosław Preis (4th Dan), Sensei Janusz Młot (3rd Dan), Sensei Olgierd Kempa (3rd Dan), Senpai Marcin Wac (2nd Dan), and Senpai Bartłomiej Malec (1st Dan). Their expertise and dedication ensured a high level of training and personal development for all participants.

A major event of the camp was the examination held on 2 August for both kyu and dan ranks. Beginning at 5:00 a.m. and lasting until midday, the test challenged candidates to demonstrate flawless technique, mastery of Japanese terminology, physical endurance, strength, and kumite skills. Those testing for dan ranks also faced the tameshiwari board-breaking challenge. Among the standout achievements, Senpai Natalia Kopańska was recognised as the highest-scoring candidate, while Emilia Król was awarded a rare double promotion for her exceptional performance. Several important promotions were also awarded: Sensei Karol Kloskowski achieved 3rd Dan, Senpai Bartłomiej Malec 2nd Dan, and Senpai Natalia Kopańska, Senpai Justyna Hołyszko, and Senpai Iga Wikarska all reached 1st Dan.

This year’s camp in Łeba was a perfect balance of rigorous training, personal achievement, and unforgettable experiences. It once again reinforced the strong spirit of Kyokushin and strengthened the bonds within the IFK Poland community.

From 21 to 31 July, the picturesque seaside town of Łeba hosted a memorable karate camp organised by the Polish IFK Karate Organisation. Participants from Przemyśl, Medyka, Katowice and Wrocław came together for ten days of intensive training, sharing their passion and commitment to improving their martial arts skills.

The daily training schedule was structured with four sessions per day, offering participants a comprehensive programme designed to hone their skills and push their limits. The training was divided into specialised modules:

Kumite: These sessions focused on preparing participants for upcoming tournaments and provided an opportunity to hone fighting skills. They were also instrumental in selecting the team for the upcoming British Open tournament.

Kata: Karatekas immersed themselves in the art of forms with an emphasis on precision and tradition. The sessions were part of the preparation for the World Championships in October and helped to build a strong national team.

General training: These sessions were designed to build overall physical stamina and technical skills, while fostering the mental resilience required of a true warrior.

The camp benefited from the expertise of an outstanding team of instructors, including Shihan Jan Wac, Sensei Sylwester Gołąbek, Sensei Janusz Młot, Sensei Olgierd Kempa, Senpai Marcin Wac, Senpai Rafał Wieczorowski and Senpai Bartek Malec. A special guest who shared his vast knowledge and expertise was the world renowned fighter - Senpai Grzegorz Kędzierski. Their guidance ensured that each session was both challenging and enriching, allowing the participants to grow as martial artists.

A highlight of the camp were the examinations for both student and master ranks. We are pleased to announce that Sensei Olgierd Kempa achieved the 3rd Dan and Senpai Iga Sczygieł the 1st Dan, marking significant milestones in their karate journeys.

Beyond the rigorous training, the camp was also a time of camaraderie and shared experiences. The seaside setting provided the perfect backdrop for the participants to bond and create lasting memories. As the camp drew to a close, the atmosphere was filled with a mixture of exhaustion and fulfilment, a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.

As we reflect on this unforgettable experience, we eagerly look forward to the next gathering, where we will continue to strive for excellence in our martial arts journey. Osu!
