IFK Yamburg took four fighters as part of the Russian team to Japan for the IKO Matsushima World Championships and took 3 of the top 4 places. Artur Tilov became grand champion in an event dominated by Russia and Iran. Aleksander Karshigeev came 3rd and Alexander Ibragimov 4th place to complete the great results for the Gazprom sponsored team.
